The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, conveyed his condolences on Saturday regarding the death of a Pakistani citizen in Abu Dhabi amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. In a communication on X, he confirmed that he reached out to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasizing Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the regional volatility following the recent Israeli military action against Iran and the subsequent missile strikes on the UAE and other Gulf nations. Sharif expressed his heartfelt sorrow for the tragic loss and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Emirati people during these challenging times.

Explosions Recorded in the UAE

Multiple areas within the United Arab Emirates experienced disturbances following a joint military operation conducted by Israel and the United States targeting Iran. Reports indicate that explosions were audible in Abu Dhabi as Iran retaliated in response to these operations, which were referred to by US and Israeli forces as Operation Epic Fury and Operation Roar of a Lion, respectively. Eyewitness accounts, including those from two correspondents, confirmed that the blasts were associated with the Iranian missile strike on Abu Dhabi, resulting in at least one fatality.

Impacts Across Military Bases in the Region

The Al Dhafra Air Base, situated in the southern region of Abu Dhabi, was also subjected to missile attacks from Iran. Furthermore, Iranian missiles targeted US military installations in neighboring countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. Specifically, the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the Al Saleem military base in Kuwait, and the Muwaffaq al-Salti military base in Jordan reported explosions, illustrating the broad regional impact of these missile strikes.

US-Israel Airstrike in Iraq

In a related development, a coordinated airstrike by US and Israeli forces was conducted in Iraq targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a paramilitary group backed by Iran. This operation took place in Baghdad and resulted in one member of the PMF being killed and three others sustaining injuries. The airstrike highlights the intensifying military actions in the region as forces seek to counter Iran’s influence.
