More than 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras will be installed at all booths in Bihar for Bihar assembly elections 2025. During the polling, there will be strict monitoring through CCTV at all booths. Action has been started to install CCTV at every booth on the guidelines of the Election Commission. For this, a proposal has been invited by issuing tender by the office of Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar.
Earlier only few booths had such a system
Action has been initiated to install two or three CCTV cameras at each booth in Bihar to ensure peaceful and fair voting under the Bihar Assembly elections. CCTVs have been installed at selected booths during the previous assembly or Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, from where live webcasting is done. The line of polling personnel and voters was recorded near the entry at these booths as well. At the same time, photography and video graphs have been arranged at other booths.
This time over 90,000 booths in Bihar to have CCTV
This time it has been decided to install CCTV at all booths. This time preparations have been made to vote at 90,712 booths for the election. In its earlier Lok Sabha elections, 77, 895 booths were formed in the state.
On the instructions of Bihar Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjial, new booths have been formed after verifying booths by the District Election Officer of the districts.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has said that 94.68% of the voters have been covered in Bihar so far and only 7 days are left. On 1 August 2025, the draft i.e. draft voter list will be published. After this, all people and political parties will get a month’s time, in which they will be able to apply to add the names left in the list, rectify mistakes or object to any wrong entry.
The Commission has made it clear that no qualified voter will be out of the list. So far, out of a total of 7.89 crore voters, about 7.11 crore forms have been received and about 6.85 crore forms have been recorded digitally. 36.86 lakh people have been found who did not meet at their address, some of which have been found to be dead, some permanently transferred and some two places.
