A man was reportedly shot and killed by his friend over a financial disagreement in Saharsa district, Bihar. The victim, identified as Abhijeet Singh Rajput, was discovered inside his residence two days after the alleged murder took place. According to local sources, Abhijeet was last seen leaving a social gathering shortly before the incident occurred.

The alarm was raised when Abhijeet’s friend, Ashish, received a call from a third individual named Aryan. Aryan informed Ashish and the victim’s younger brother about the situation, leading them to Abhijeet’s home. Upon their arrival, Ashish found the front gate open but the veranda door secured, prompting him to inspect the premises through a window where he discovered Abhijeet’s lifeless body.

Realising the severity of the situation, Ashish contacted the police. Officers arrived quickly at the scene and gained entry by forcing open the locked door. Inside the house, they found Abhijeet’s body covered with a pillow. Initial inquiries suggest that the accused may have escaped through a rear exit following the act.

Preliminary Investigation Findings

According to Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pankaj Kumar Singh, the initial assessment points towards murder, with evidence indicating that Abhijeet had been shot. Medical personnel have since transferred the body to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police are also looking into the events leading up to the crime, including Abhijeet’s activities prior to the incident.

Abhijeet reportedly attended a party the night before his death. Sources indicate that he may have been killed at approximately 2 am, shortly after returning home. The police are delving into this timeline to establish a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the murder.
