Man Killed on Holi in Noida in Front of Family

The CSR Journal Magazine

A tragic incident unfolded in Noida on Holi, where a property dealer named Sahil Singhal was shot dead in the presence of his wife and children. The murder took place at the Ivy County Society in Sector 75 amidst tensions linked to an alleged extramarital affair. Authorities have taken four individuals, including the victim’s girlfriend and a minor, into custody in connection with the case.

Background of the Relationship

According to police investigations, Sahil Singhal had been in a relationship with Priya, a resident of Ghaziabad, for approximately four years. On the day of the festival, Priya arrived at the Ivy County Society alongside three male companions, entering through the main entrance to meet Singhal. Authorities noted that Priya had been pressuring Singhal for marriage, which had become a source of ongoing conflict between the couple.

Escalation During Holi Celebrations

On Holi, Priya once again raised her desire to marry Singhal, which he declined. This refusal led to a heated argument between them. The group comprised Priya’s brothers, Nikhil Solanki and Lokesh, also known as Labbu Solanki, along with a neighbor named Lucky. Initially, they approached Singhal’s flat but were denied entry by his mother, Seema Singhal.

Confrontation and Shooting Incident

Upon learning that Sahil was participating in Holi festivities with his family in the society’s common area, the accused approached him again to continue the dispute. During this confrontation, Nikhil Solanki, in a fit of anger, opened fire on Singhal. Following the shooting, Singhal fell to the ground with a gunshot wound, prompting his family to rush him to the nearest hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Motivations Behind the Attack

Investigators have indicated that the motive for the attack may have stemmed from Singhal allegedly sharing Priya’s photos and videos on social media, which reportedly angered her brothers. They had come to the housing society on Holi with the intention of confronting Singhal regarding the posts.

Legal Proceedings and Arrests Made

Following a formal complaint lodged by Singhal’s mother, local law enforcement registered a case against the four suspects. All individuals implicated in the incident, including one minor, have been apprehended by authorities for their involvement in this tragic event.
