Madhya Pradesh: Woman Head Constable Beaten to Death by Husband with a Baseball Bat

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a tragic incident reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district, a woman head constable was beaten to death by her husband during a domestic dispute. The victim, identified as Savita Saket, was killed on Sunday night while preparing dinner at her residence in the government police quarters.

According to initial reports, a heated argument broke out between Savita and her husband, Virendra Saket. During the altercation, Virendra allegedly picked up a baseball bat and repeatedly struck his wife, fatally injuring her. The couple lived with their two children.

Police Probe Underway

Savita was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Police have launched an investigation and registered a case of murder. Authorities are currently working to determine the exact cause of the argument that led to this violent outburst. The accused husband has reportedly been taken into custody, and questioning is underway.

Honour Killing in Gwalior

In another heartbreaking incident from Madhya Pradesh, a case of alleged honour killing has come to light from Harsi village under the Belgarha police station limits. A young man named Omprakash Batham, who had married against the wishes of his in-laws, was brutally beaten and later died from his injuries.

Omprakash had married Shivani Jha a year ago, defying opposition from her family. The couple had been living in Dabra since their marriage. On August 19, they returned to their village, but the visit turned fatal when Shivani’s father, brother, and other relatives allegedly attacked Omprakash with sticks, along with help from neighbours.

Murder Case Registered

Omprakash was seriously injured and rushed to Jayarogya Hospital in Gwalior, where he remained in critical condition for six days. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Police have converted the initial assault case into a murder case and are intensifying efforts to arrest the accused, including Dwarika Prasad Jha, Raju Jha, Uma Ojha, and Sandeep Sharma.

Both cases highlight the rising domestic and caste-related violence in Madhya Pradesh, raising questions about safety within homes and society at large.
