Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, commemorated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday on September 17. The day marked the initiation of a month-long series of celebratory activities that the Government of India has organised across the nation. This initiative aims to honour the Prime Minister’s contributions over his tenure.

During his visit to the Children’s Hospital in Bemina, Srinagar, Sinha engaged with children currently receiving treatment. In a gesture of goodwill, he distributed gifts to the young patients, adding a special moment to their day. By interacting with these children, he sought to bring a sense of joy and warmth to their challenging situations.

In addition to his visit to the hospital, Sinha stopped by the Palaash and Pareesh Child Care Home, where he formally launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ alongside twelve service programmes set to run from September 17 to October 17. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups within Jammu and Kashmir.

Notably, Samik Bhattacharya, the BJP President in West Bengal, visited the Dakshineswar Kali Temple to offer prayers in honour of the Prime Minister’s birthday. His appearance at the temple illustrates the cultural significance of spirituality in India’s political landscape.

Speaking at the temple, Bhattacharya remarked on the historical relevance of the Bhavatarini Temple, unveiling that it was the first place Modi visited to seek blessings at the outset of his public life. In recognition of this, the temple committee is scheduled to perform a special aarti dedicated to the Prime Minister.

These interconnected celebrations across various states signify a nationwide acknowledgment of Modi’s birthday and the government’s efforts to engage citizens through meaningful activities.
