Jeevesh Mishra sent legal notice to Pappu Yadav, Rohini Acharya as they demanded his resignation

The political fierce battle is being deepened by Jeevesh Mishra, the urban development minister of the Bihar government, who was convicted in the fake drug case from the Rajsamand court of Rajasthan. BJP Legal Cell has sent a legal notice to MP Pappu Yadav, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram and other leaders for sharp comments on the issue.

Coordinator of BJP Legal Cell gave information

BJP Legal Cell Coordinator R.K. Dixit said in a press conference on Monday that these leaders have made unrestrained statements against Minister Jeevesh Mishra without investigating the facts. He warned that if not publicly apologized within 15 days, then legal action will be taken on all these. Dixit made it clear that Minister Jeevesh Mishra does not have a direct connection with any pharmaceutical company, he is neither the owner of any company nor has a role in any business activity.

Pappu Yadav demanded expulsion of Mishra

Significantly, after being convicted in the fake drug case, MP Pappu Yadav had demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to dismiss Jeevesh Mishra from the cabinet. At the same time, Rohini Acharya wrote in her “X” handle and called the Nitish government a ‘helpless and compromised’. Congress leader Rajesh Rathore also raised the demand for an investigation into the network of fake medicines.

In fact, this case is of the year 2010 when sampling of Siprolin-500 tablets taken from the warehouse of Kansara Drugs Distributors in Deogarh of Rajasthan was found adulterated. Among the supply companies, the name of Ultra Health Care Private Limited was revealed, whose director was Jeevesh Mishra. However, Dixit claimed, “At that time Jeevesh Mishra was associated with a company called ‘Ultra Care Private Limited’, which used to distribute only medicines. He had no direct connection with the production of medicine nor did any facts come to light against him in any investigation.”

The Rajsamand court convicted 9 people, including Mishra on 4 June 2025 and on 1 July, he was sentenced and filled a fine of Rs 7000 and released it on the condition of maintaining virtue under the Probation Act. Now the BJP seems to be catching up with the strictness of the legal cell. There is a preparation to tighten legal grip on opposition leaders, which can lead to a new twist in the politics of Bihar.
