Jay Pawar Demands Investigation into Ajit Pawar’s Plane Crash and Ban on VSR Airlines

The CSR Journal Magazine

Jay Pawar has urged for a detailed and transparent inquiry into the plane crash that resulted in the death of his father Ajit Pawar, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The tragic incident occurred on January 28 in Baramati. In a recent Instagram post, he expressed his concerns over the circumstances surrounding the event and called for immediate accountability, emphasizing the need to halt operations of VSR Airlines.

Pawar highlighted that the black boxes from the aircraft are typically designed to withstand severe conditions and thus should provide vital information about the crash. He stated, “The citizens of Maharashtra deserve to know the full, transparent, and indisputable truth behind this heartbreaking incident. VSR should be banned from flying without delay, and their aircraft maintenance practices must be investigated thoroughly and fairly.” He encapsulated his personal loss with a heartfelt message, saying, “Miss you Dad.”

Supriya Sule Raises Concerns Over Possible Foul Play

On February 17, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule expressed her alarm regarding indications of possible foul play in Ajit Pawar’s death due to the plane crash. During a press conference, she voiced her expectation that the Civil Aviation Ministry would offer clarity on the situation. Sule remarked that both Rohit Pawar and others have called for parliamentary discussions concerning the crash-landing of Ajit Pawar’s aircraft.

Sule noted that Rohit Pawar is particularly anxious about the circumstances and that other political parties have shown their support in seeking answers. “Ajit Pawar was Rohit Pawar’s uncle. This matter is causing unease among many, including Amol Mitkari. Even the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress have supported our call for a parliamentary discussion, having already approached the Speaker about this issue. The public is demanding answers, and they are entitled to them,” Sule stated. She urged the Civil Aviation Ministry to conduct a press conference to address these pressing questions.

Rohit Pawar Critiques Investigation’s Progress

NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar criticized the lack of urgency in the investigation following the plane crash that claimed Ajit Pawar’s life. He raised concerns regarding potential delays that may protect the interests of private entities. Taking to X, he expressed that the significance of Ajit Pawar’s legacy is understood by the public, but it appears to be overlooked by investigative agencies. “Twenty days have passed since the unfortunate accident; however, the investigation remains stagnant. Is the delay merely to allow VSR Airlines to destroy evidence, or does the company have some form of protection?” he questioned.

Pawar also remarked on claims that the black box from the aircraft might be damaged. However, he stated that information he had received led him to believe that his earlier predictions about the investigation’s trajectory were proving to be accurate. He vowed to continue seeking answers to determine whether the incident was an accident or intentional wrongdoing. Rohit Pawar announced intentions to hold a press conference in two days to further discuss the matter.

Despite Rohit Pawar’s claims regarding the black box, there has been no official confirmation from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation or the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau. Experts consulted asserted that black boxes are engineered to endure extreme conditions, ensuring the data remains intact even in the event of an accident. The plane crash that resulted in the deaths of Ajit Pawar and four others occurred as the aircraft was attempting to land at Baramati airport in Pune district.
