BGMI Air Set to Launch on December 10 Following 14 Million Pre-Registrations

The CSR Journal Magazine

Krafton India has confirmed that BGMI Air will officially launch in India on December 10. This new mobile game is designed as a lighter alternative to Battlegrounds Mobile India, catering specifically to users with budget smartphones. The game has reportedly achieved over 14 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store, indicating a strong interest from the gaming community.

Initially announced as BGMI Lite, the title was rebranded to BGMI Air last month. The change reflects Krafton’s aim to provide a more accessible gaming experience for players who may not have the hardware capabilities to run the standard version of the game efficiently.

The announcement has generated excitement among gamers, particularly those who have been waiting for a lighter version that can operate smoothly on less powerful devices. With the launch date set, players are eager to see how BGMI Air will perform in comparison to its predecessor.

Closed Beta Testing Programme Details

In preparation for the official launch, Krafton has unveiled a Closed Beta Testing programme. This initiative will allow a select group of players to experience the game ahead of its public release and provide valuable feedback to enhance the final version. The testing phase is scheduled to run from November 20 to November 24 and will take place in three major cities: Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.

Players interested in participating in the beta test must submit their applications by November 9. To apply, they are required to fill out an application form available in the bio section of the official BGMI and BGMI Air Instagram accounts. Additionally, applicants need to create a 15 to 60-second audition video explaining why they should be chosen, tagging the official handle @battlegroundsmobilein_official.

Eligibility criteria for the beta test include being at least 18 years old, possessing a valid government-issued photo ID, and having an active BGMI account. Participants selected for the beta will need to travel to the designated cities at their own expense.

Game Specifications and Features

BGMI Air is specifically designed for users whose devices may struggle with the standard game. Krafton has announced that the initial download size for the new app will be approximately 1GB on Android, making it accessible for users with limited storage capacity. To streamline the setup process, the developers have assured that there will be no mandatory package downloads before players can join their first match.

The game is expected to operate efficiently on basic hardware, requiring only 1.5GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU or higher. This focus on lower specifications aims to broaden the game’s reach, allowing more players to enjoy the Battlegrounds experience.

Importantly, BGMI Air will function as a separate application, but players will not need to create new profiles. Existing BGMI account holders can log in using their current credentials, eliminating any concerns about data migration. Furthermore, the game will support full cross-play functionality, enabling BGMI Air users to team up with friends who are playing the regular version of Battlegrounds Mobile India, thereby enhancing the multiplayer experience.
