A wedding reception in Jaipur turned into a scene of theft when a man, posing as a guest, allegedly stole a bride’s bag containing valuables worth roughly Rs 4 lakh. The incident occurred on February 7 at Chandan One Marriage Garden located in the Jagatpura area during the celebration of Naveen Karol’s wedding. The theft took place amidst the festivities, allowing the suspect to blend in seamlessly with the crowd.

Details of the Incident

According to the police complaint filed by the family, the theft happened around 10:15 pm while the bride and groom were posing for photographs on stage. The suspect, dressed in a smart outfit and wearing a blazer, approached the stage during the photoshoot, picked up the bride’s bag within moments, and concealed it within his blazer before disappearing into the throng of guests. The act was so swift that it went unnoticed by attendees, who were focused on the ongoing ceremony.

Discovery and Investigation

Once the photoshoot concluded, the bride discovered that her bag was missing. The bag reportedly held jewellery and cash, amounting to an estimated value of Rs 4 lakh. A thorough search of the venue did not yield any traces of the stolen items, prompting the family to review the recordings from the event. Video footage showed the suspect executing the theft in plain sight of the camera.

Nitin Karol, the groom’s brother, acted promptly by lodging a formal complaint with the police following the shocking revelation.
