Iran Executes Individual Accused of Espionage for Israel

Iran has executed a man suspected of espionage for Israel as tensions between the two nations continue to rise amid an ongoing covert conflict. The individual, identified as Kurosh Keyvani, was convicted of supplying sensitive information and images regarding significant locations within Iran to Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. This development was reported by the judiciary’s Mizan news agency.

Claims of Targeted Strikes and Retaliation

In a related incident, Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, announced the elimination of Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib in a recent strike. However, Iran has yet to confirm the death of Khatib, amidst increasing hostilities. Additionally, Iranian state media reported missile strikes using cluster warheads aimed at Tel Aviv, described as a response to the killing of a senior Iranian security official, Ali Larijani.

Casualties from Airstrike in Iran

On the same day, an airstrike on a courthouse complex in Larestan County, located in Iran’s Fars province, resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals, according to the judiciary’s Mizan news agency. Among the victims were a lawyer, six clients, and a court staff member, highlighting the escalating violence in the region.

Attacks on Natural Gas Facilities

Iranian authorities also reported an attack on its natural gas facilities linked to the South Pars gas field, although state media did not immediately disclose details regarding the extent of the damage or any casualties from this incident.

UAE Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones

The United Arab Emirates announced that it intercepted 13 ballistic missiles and 27 drones launched by Iran. This information was provided by the UAE’s defense ministry, which stated that hundreds of missiles and drones had been downed since the onset of hostilities on February 28. Reports indicate two Emirati soldiers and six civilians have died, with 158 others injured during this period.

US Military Strikes Target Iranian Missile Systems

In an effort to address the emerging threats in the region, the United States military reported conducting strikes against Iranian anti-ship cruise missile systems. These operations were deemed necessary in light of their potential risk to maritime traffic in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command announced these actions as part of continued military engagement in response to rising tensions.
