Ram Mandir Trust Set to Hold Significant Meeting to Finalise New CEO

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Ram Mandir Trust will convene a crucial meeting on September 2 to discuss the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and several other key positions. The meeting will be held at the Maniram Chavani and is expected to be conducted in two sessions, beginning at 2 pm. The initial session will focus on filling three vacant trustee positions, followed by discussions regarding the secretary role. This gathering is anticipated to address more than just the CEO’s appointment, with significant decisions regarding multiple essential positions within the Trust.

Panel of Candidates for CEO Position

Currently, four candidates are considered for the CEO position: Rajesh Pandey, a specialist in encounter operations, Bihar’s IPS officer Paresh Saxena, former IPS officer Dinesh Chandra from Uttar Pradesh, and ex-IAS officer Yogeshwar Ram Mishra. However, there has been no official disclosure regarding which of these candidates are included in the three-name panel provided to the Trust by the search committee. The outcome of the September 2 meeting will reveal which individual will be appointed as the inaugural CEO of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The search for the CEO began with an extensive pool of 5,585 applications. This comprehensive selection process included technical scrutiny and manual reviews, employing separate teams stationed in Delhi-NCR, Pune, and Sambalpur. After evaluating the documentation, 16 candidates were shortlisted for further consideration through online discussions held between August 3 and 6. Following this, they were invited for direct interviews in Ayodhya on August 11 and 12. This thorough procedure culminated in the selection of three candidates for panel recommendation.

Search Committee’s Role and Recommendations

A three-member search committee was established to oversee the selection of the CEO. This committee, consisting of Justice (Retired) Pramod Kohli, Lieutenant General (Retired) V.K. Chaturvedi, and Dr. Suresh Havare, was tasked with evaluating the candidates based on their professional backgrounds and leadership qualities. According to Samir Panda, the secretary of the search committee, the selection process was completed ahead of schedule, with the final report submitted to the Trust on September 1. The Trust will review these recommendations at the upcoming meeting.

In addition to appointing a CEO, the meeting will also address filling three vacant trustee positions. The potential appointment of a full-time secretary will be deliberated, alongside a broader restructuring of various committees within the Trust, including the Religious Trust Committee, Construction Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and the Managing Committee. Decisions made during this meeting are expected to shape the operational framework of the Trust in the future.

Moreover, changes regarding the media responsibilities associated with the Trust may also be enacted. There is speculation that a media officer will be appointed in place of the Trust’s current spokesperson, representing a shift in media relations. Thus, the September 2 gathering holds considerable significance, not only for the appointment of the first CEO but also for other key positions within the organisation.

Timeline of Selection Process

The process for selecting the CEO commenced on July 1, with the first meeting held to outline eligibility and selection criteria. A search committee was formed on July 6, and Samir Panda was designated as the secretary on July 14. The application window closed on July 18, followed by rigorous evaluation of the submitted documents. The process culminated with the submission of the three-name panel to the Trust on September 1. The next significant step occurs on September 2, when discussions regarding these candidates will take place, determining who will assume the responsibilities of the first CEO of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
