International Leaders to Attend India AI Impact Summit 2026

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced the attendance of various world leaders at the upcoming India–AI Impact Summit 2026, set to occur from February 16 to 20 in New Delhi. This event, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is being touted as a significant global gathering focusing on artificial intelligence, particularly within the Global South.

Diverse Representation from Multiple Nations

Confirmations have been received from leaders of 20 nations, with participation from both heads of state and ministers. Some notable attending leaders include:

– Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan
– Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil
– Emmanuel Macron, President of France
– Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Greece
– Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, President of Sri Lanka

In total, 45 countries will send ministerial delegations, while the United Nations Secretary-General and other prominent officials from international organizations are also slated to be present.

Focal Points of Discussion

Discussions at the summit will center around the future of artificial intelligence, its economic implications, and necessary governance frameworks. This comes amid transformative changes in the global AI landscape, with an increasing emphasis on robust data governance and sector-specific AI implementation. The summit will explore these themes through three key pillars: People, Planet, and Progress, addressing the spectrum of AI from skilling to economic growth.

Extensive Event Programming

The event is anticipated to feature numerous interactive sessions, with over 700 proposals submitted for consideration. On February 17, organizers plan to unveil the AI Compendium, which will detail case studies highlighting AI applications across various sectors including healthcare, education, and agriculture. The proceedings will culminate on February 20 with the Graduate Program in AI (GPAI) Council meeting.

High-profile Participation from Industry Leaders

The summit is projected to attract nearly 100 nations, with more than 100 prominent global CEOs confirming their attendance. Noteworthy figures in the technology sector, such as Sundar Pichai of Google, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Jensen Huang of Nvidia, are expected to engage in dialogue throughout the event.

Innovative Competitions and Exhibitions

In addition to discussions, the summit will host a variety of competitions, including “AI for ALL” and “AI by HER,” offering top prizes of Rs 2.50 crore. Youth engagement initiatives like YUVAi and India AI Tinkerpreneur will also be featured. An expansive exhibition, covering 70,000 square meters, will showcase over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries, underscoring the event’s global significance.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 promises to be a landmark event, fostering international collaboration and innovation in artificial intelligence, while addressing pressing global challenges.
