Haryana State Armwrestling Championship 2026 Concludes in Palwal with Satnam Singh Crowned Champion

The Haryana State Armwrestling Championship 2026 took place on March 30 at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Palwal. The tournament drew participation from over 250 athletes representing various regions of Haryana, showcasing their strength and skill in competitive armwrestling. The event emphasized the state’s commitment to promoting emerging sports and was inaugurated by Gaurav Gautam, the Sports Minister of Haryana, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Intense Competitions Across Various Weight Categories

A range of intense matchups characterized the championship, with competitors battling it out in multiple weight categories. Notable performances included that of Satnam Singh, a star from the Pro Panja League, who clinched the gold medal in the 90 kg category. His exceptional performance throughout the tournament earned him the title of Champion of Champions in the senior men’s division. In a remarkable display of skill, Satnam triumphed over Davinder Singh Kandola, the winner of the 100 kg category, Attar Singh from the 110 kg+ category, and Anil Sharma, who topped the 85 kg division.

Anil Sharma also made headlines by securing the Champion of Champions title in the youth division, illustrating the rising influence of the Pro Panja League in nurturing young talent. The league has been instrumental in bringing attention to the sport and developing promising athletes in Haryana.

A Look at Other Achievements in the Championship

The championship concluded with several standout performances. Sikander Singh Bajwa was declared the champion of the 70 kg category, while Mohit Kumar emerged victorious in the 80 kg category. In addition, Davinder Singh Kandola claimed first place in the 100 kg division, and Attar Singh topped the 110 kg+ category, further showcasing the diverse talent pool in the sport.

Parvinn Dabass, Co-Founder of the Pro Panja League, attended the event and praised Haryana’s historical strength in sports. He noted the remarkable level of talent displayed at the championship, which featured athletes who are a part of the league and represent teams like the Rohtak Rowdies. Dabass expressed gratitude to Gaurav Gautam for supporting the event and promoting armwrestling in Haryana, emphasizing the importance of such tournaments in identifying and nurturing young athletes.
