Haryana Horror: Model Sheetal’s Body Found in Sonipat Canal With Throat Slit, Injuries on Body

A very shocking incident has come to light from Haryana’s Sonipat on Monday. A Haryana-based model, Sheetal, also known as Simmy Chaudhry was found dead. The young model from the Haryana music industry was found brutally murdered in the Kharkhoda area of Sonipat.

According to reports, her body, with a slit throat, was discovered near the Reliance canal close to Khanda village. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local entertainment fraternity.

Series of Death threats to influencers

The recent incident comes days after Instagram influencer Kanchan Tiwari, popularly known as Kamal Kaur ‘Bhabhi’ was strangled to death. She was killed allegedly for posting what the accused considered “obscene content” on her social media accounts.

The recent murder case and Kamal kaur’s murder conspiracy has raised serious concerns about women’s safety. A series of death threats to influencers have shaken the social media and influencer community in Punjab

Who was Sheetal?

According to reports, Sheetal is originally from Panipat’s Khalila Majra village. She had been reported missing by her sister, Neha, on June 14. Sheetal had recently embarked on a modelling career in the Haryanvi music industry six months ago. Before this she used to work at a hotel in Karnal, Haryana. She left home for a Haryanvi album shoot in Ahar village on the day she disappeared.

Sister files missing complaint

Following sheetal’s disappearance, her sister filed a police complaint. According to Neha’s statement to the police, Sheetal had called her on the night of June 14. She further alleged that her former friend, identified as Sunil from Panipat, had arrived at the shooting location and assaulted her. Neha also claimed that Sheetal mentioned Sunil was pressuring her to leave with him during her last phone conversation with her. This happened before her phone disconnected and became unreachable she alleged.

“She also told me that Sunil was mounting pressure on her to go with her. Thereafter, her phone disconnected, and she was unreachable. On Sunday, Sunil’s car slipped into a canal in Delhi, and he was taken out by a passerby, but my sister was not in the car. We suspect that Sunil killed my sister, and he is concocting a false story. He is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Panipat,” Neha added.

Suspicion mounts on Sunil

Following Neha’s complaint, suspicion has now fallen on Sunil. According to reports, Sunil’s car reportedly slipped into a canal in Delhi on Sunday. However, he was rescued by a passerby and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Panipat. The police informed that Sheetal was not found in the vehicle.

However, tragedy unfolded when Sheetal’s body was later discovered during the retrieval operation of the car near the canal. Neha has vehemently accused Sunil of her sister’s murder, suggesting he is fabricating a false story. She revealed that Sheetal had known Sunil from her time working at his hotel in Karnal.

Neha during her statement alleged that Sunil had pressured Sheetal to marry him. Sunil however is already married with two children. Sheetal had subsequently left the job, but Sunil allegedly continued to pursue her. “Sunil mounted pressure on her to tie a knot, but she came to know that he was already married and the father of two kids. Then, Sheetal left the job, but the hotel owner continued to chase her,” she added.

Police statement

Sonipat ACP Headquarters Ajit Singh confirmed the discovery of the body, stating, “We received information about the presence of the body of a woman in a canal. Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. In the process of identifying the body, it was found that a missing report for a woman, Sheetal, had been filed in Panipat. The Police are undertaking further actions.”

DSP Rajbir Singh has also confirmed that the injury marks on Sheetal’s body indicate a clear case of murder, dismissing any notion of an accidental drowning. Sonipat and Panipat police are now conducting a joint investigation. “There are injury marks on the body, and we can confirm it’s a murder case,” said DSP Rajbir Singh.

Body sent for Post-mortem

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and authorities are actively searching for the culprits. As of now, no arrests have been made. This grim incident follows another recent case in Punjab, where social media influencer Kamal Kaur’s body was found in a car, highlighting a disturbing trend of crimes targeting women in the region.
