Gangster Anil Pandit Linked to Tiger Shroff Shooting Incident

The CSR Journal Magazine

Gangster Anil Pandit has reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle, which occurred on the evening of October 18, 2026, in Juhu, Mumbai, Maharashtra. At the time of the incident, Shroff was inside his car when three assailants approached and opened fire. The Delhi Police have stated that initial investigations indicated that one of the suspects, an 18-year-old named Rehan, had been in contact with Pandit.

Following the shooting, three suspects were apprehended in Rajasthan on October 19, 2026. Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam confirmed that Rehan had previously communicated with Anil Pandit, highlighting the gangster’s alleged involvement in the incident.

Background on Anil Pandit

According to police reports, Anil Pandit has connections to Lawrence Bishnoi, the gangster implicated in a previous shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, in April 2024. Pandit is believed to operate primarily from California and has reportedly issued directives to his associates from abroad. He is originally from Rai Kalan village in Haryana’s Panipat district.

Having left India around 2023, Pandit is said to have travelled to the United States via the ‘dunki’ route in December 2023. Since relocating, he has become involved in coordinating criminal activities from overseas and is wanted in over 12 extortion cases in Haryana. His operations reportedly involve collaboration with other alleged members of the criminal syndicate.

Police investigations suggest that Pandit has been using intimidation tactics against celebrities and businessmen to extract protection money on behalf of the Bishnoi gang. He is accused of orchestrating extortion schemes and targeted attacks on various individuals in the entertainment industry across Delhi, Haryana, and Mumbai.

Threats to Bollywood Celebrities

Following the shooting incident involving Tiger Shroff, Anil Pandit and his associate Harman Sandhu allegedly released audio messages and social media posts claiming responsibility for the attack. They reportedly issued threats to members of the film industry, warning against associations with certain individuals or defiance of the gang’s demands.

In a purported audio clip that has circulated among security agencies, Pandit allegedly threatens Bollywood star Salman Khan, demanding an apology to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. The authenticity of this audio clip has yet to be confirmed. In the message, Pandit warns Khan that failure to comply would result in severe consequences for his family.

Additionally, police investigations have linked Pandit to several shooting incidents targeting celebrities in recent months. Notable cases include an attack outside the gym of Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa in June and a shooting incident involving Haryanvi singer Diler Kharkiya in September. These attacks are believed to be warnings related to extortion demands.

Current Developments

In the aftermath of the shooting at Tiger Shroff, three individuals, including a minor, were detained in Rajasthan. The police confirmed that these suspects were involved in the attack, during which three shots were fired at Shroff’s vehicle, though he escaped without injury. However, his driver and another individual sustained injuries during the incident.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his residence to discuss his well-being and assured the actor’s family of enhanced security measures. Shinde remarked on the need to dismantle criminal networks, drawing parallels to past efforts against gangs in the 1990s. The Mumbai Police have registered a case of attempted murder in connection with the shooting, which has since been transferred to the Crime Branch for further investigation.

Tiger Shroff, born Jai Hemant Shroff on March 2, 1990, is recognised as one of Bollywood’s leading action stars, having gained prominence through films such as “Heropanti,” “Baaghi,” and “War.” His recent experiences have raised significant concerns regarding safety within the film industry amidst ongoing criminal activities.
