Father Accused of Hanging Daughters Over Theft Suspicions, Leading to One Death

The CSR Journal Magazine

A tragic case of alleged child abuse has emerged from Maharashtra, where a father reportedly subjected his two daughters to severe torture based on suspicions of theft. Dadu Haibat Yamgar, the accused, is said to have bound the hands and legs of his daughters, 10-year-old Sanika and 11-year-old Anuja, and hung them upside down from an iron beam in their home. This incident occurred around 5 PM on a Wednesday and extended through the night.

Victims Left Without Aid

The two girls reportedly endured the torment for several hours, pleading for water as they hung suspended in pain. Their ordeal concluded when their grandfather arrived the next morning to untie them at approximately 6 AM. By that time, Sanika had tragically passed away, while Anuja was discovered unconscious and in critical condition. She was promptly transported to a local hospital where she regained consciousness and recounted the distressing events to medical personnel, prompting the initiation of police action.

Community Concerns and Immediate Response

Initial findings indicate that neighborhood suspicions regarding theft involving the girls may have spurred the father’s extreme punitive measures. In a concerning twist, family members allegedly attempted to carry out Sanika’s last rites discreetly to keep the incident from being reported. Nonetheless, the circumstances came to light following Anuja’s testimony.

Further Allegations Against the Accused

In disturbing developments, it has been reported that the accused father allegedly assailed the girls’ grandfather with a sharp object after he freed the children, issuing threats of death in the process. This has raised serious questions regarding family dynamics and the safety of the other children involved.

Legal Actions Initiated

Law enforcement officials have taken Dadu Haibat Yamgar into custody for further investigation, as the case has drawn significant attention to issues of child abuse and domestic violence. Authorities are expected to delve deeply into the circumstances surrounding this grim incident and assess the broader implications for child welfare in the region.
