Donald Trump Says US Military Operations in Iran Will End ‘Very Soon’

The CSR Journal Magazine

During a press conference in Florida, US President Donald Trump commented on the ongoing military operations in Iran, stating that they would conclude “very soon.” However, he did not specify a precise timeline for the end of these operations. Earlier, Trump had described the situation in Iran as an “excursion,” emphasizing the need to neutralize the threats posed by the country.

Responding to a reporter’s inquiry about his earlier remarks regarding Iran, Trump stated, “Very soon. Look, everything they have is gone, including their leadership. In fact, their two levels of leadership and, as it turns out, even more than that are gone.” He highlighted that much of the Iranian leadership is unfamiliar to the general public, underlining the effectiveness of the actions taken.

In his opening statements, the president remarked on Iran’s ambitions, suggesting that they aimed to dominate the Middle East and undermine Israel. He expressed pride in the US military’s involvement in the operations, asserting that they were well-timed and would conclude swiftly. Trump warned that if hostilities were to resume, Iran would face even more significant consequences.

Trump claimed that the Iranian military had been significantly weakened within the first days of Operation Epic Fury, labeling it a “tremendous success.” He elaborated, “They have no Navy, Air Force, anti-aircraft equipment. It’s all been blown up. They have no radar, no telecommunications, and no leadership left. We could call it a tremendous success right now, or we could go further. And we’re going to go further.” He noted that the major risks associated with the military operation had diminished after the initial days of conflict.

When pressed on the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Trump voiced disappointment, stating that it might lead to ongoing issues for the nation. Khamenei was named to the highest leadership position in Iran by the 88-member Assembly of Experts, which confirmed his selection and introduced him as the third leader of the Islamic Republic.

This leadership transition takes place amid heightened regional tensions, following a military campaign that resulted in the death of the former leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response to these developments, Tehran has carried out counter-strikes targeting American military installations in various Arab nations, along with Israeli assets located in the region.
