On Saturday morning, dozens of vehicles including trucks, cars collided on Noida Expressway due to dense fog in Delhi-NCR. Many left injured and traffic jams on the expressway. The post-accident visuals showed a white car climbing onto a divider with bonnet badly damaged, right behind the car was a truck, and beneath the truck was a car. It seemed that all these vehicles rammed into each other as the visibility was almost zero because of thick smog. In the video the police and toll management were seen removing and rescuing people stuck.
In a statement issued by the Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) Police Commissioner office, investigation is underway. In a post on X, the Police Commissionerate wrote, “In the said case, the police force is present at the scene, and necessary actions are being taken.” Further details of the number of people injured in the incident is yet to be released.

How is the air quality in Delhi-NCR?
This morning, the air quality in Delhi-NCR was very poor, there was a thick layer of smog, and visibility was very poor. The air quality in Noida Sector-125, that is the closest to the accident spot, recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 449, this falls under severe category, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Many areas are under the category of ‘Severe’ air quality. Anand Vihar topped the list with AQI at 436, Ashok Vihar (435), ITO (425), DTU (426), and Nehru Nagar (427, among others. The air quality worsened today morning with AQI overall stepping down to 393, as per CPCB. With this air quality, the risk of respiratory illnesses increased and can lead to prolonged health issues.
This morning, the Delhi Airport issued an advisory on X, “Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information,”.
