Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested two alleged shooters linked to fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau’s network following an encounter in Rohini’s Sector 24, marking a major development in the murder investigation of Narela property dealer Pramod Dahiya.

A juvenile allegedly associated with the two accused was also apprehended from the spot. Police said the three were suspected to have been involved in the September 3 killing of Dahiya, who was shot dead outside a gym in Narela’s Bankner village.

Police Lay Trap After Receiving Specific Intelligence

According to police, the Rohini Special Staff received specific information that three alleged gang members connected to the murder would arrive in Sector 24 on a motorcycle.

A police team subsequently laid a trap in the area and moved to intercept the suspects.

Police said the three were asked to surrender, but the accused allegedly opened fire at the police party.

The police retaliated, during which two of the suspects sustained injuries to their legs and were subsequently taken into custody.

The third accused, who is a minor, was apprehended at the spot.

No police personnel were injured during the exchange of fire.

Trio Suspected To Be Linked To Himanshu Bhau Gang

Investigators said all three accused are alleged shooters associated with the gang of fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau, who is believed to be operating from abroad.

The three are suspected to have played a role in the killing of Pramod Dahiya, a property dealer who was attacked by armed assailants outside a fitness centre in Narela earlier this month.

Police are continuing to investigate the extent of their alleged involvement and whether other members of the gang participated in planning or carrying out the killing.

Property Dealer Was Shot Dead Outside Gym

Dahiya was killed on September 3 while heading to a gym in Bankner village.

The attack took place at around 7 am, police said.

Three assailants travelling on a motorcycle allegedly fired multiple rounds at Dahiya, killing him at the spot.

The murder triggered widespread outrage, with Dahiya’s family members refusing to accept his body until those responsible for the killing were arrested.

Delhi Police subsequently formed multiple teams and carried out raids across Delhi and Haryana in an effort to trace the suspected shooters.

Police Probe Possible Extortion Angle

Investigators have also been examining whether extortion was linked to the killing.

Police sources said Dahiya and his associates had allegedly received extortion threats in the past from criminals linked to the Himanshu Bhau network.

Shortly after the murder, a social media post purportedly issued in the name of the gang claimed responsibility for the killing.

Police said Dahiya had been travelling in a bulletproof vehicle because of security concerns and also possessed a licensed firearm.

However, investigators believe the attackers conducted detailed reconnaissance of his movements before allegedly carrying out the attack outside the gym.

Further Investigation Underway

The two injured accused are undergoing treatment while remaining in police custody.

The juvenile apprehended in connection with the case is being processed under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Investigators are now working to establish the full conspiracy behind Dahiya’s murder and identify other alleged members of the gang who may have been involved in planning or executing the attack.
