A 16-year-old Class 10 student from a private school in Delhi died by suicide on Tuesday afternoon after reportedly enduring prolonged harassment from teachers. Police said the boy jumped from the platform of Rajendra Place Metro Station around 2:34 pm. He was rushed to BLK Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Suicide Note Mentions Teachers, Seeks Organ Donation

Investigators recovered a suicide note in which the student blamed continuous scolding and humiliation by specific teachers for driving him to take the extreme step. He apologised to his family, expressed regret for disappointing them, and requested that his organs be donated to those in need. The note concluded with a plea for action against those he accused, stating he did not want any other child to experience similar distress.

“Sorry bhaiya, for all the time I was rude to you,” he wrote to his brother. To his mother, he said, “Sorry mummy, however many times I broke your heart, I am going to do it for the last time.”

He expressed gratitude toward his parents and his guilt at not being able to do more for them. The officer said the note ended with the boy asking that whatever remained of him be used to help someone else. “Give my organs to those in need,” he wrote, adding that if any organs were still functioning after the fall, they should be donated.

“My school is only like that. My last wish is that action be taken against them. I don’t want any other kid to go through this,” he concluded.

Father Alleges Emotional Abuse at School

The boy’s father told police and media that his son had been complaining for months about being routinely targeted by certain teachers over minor issues. According to him, the student felt demeaned, threatened with a transfer certificate, and often insulted in front of classmates. The parents said they had raised verbal complaints several times but refrained from formal action as the Class 10 exams were approaching.

“He used to tell me and my wife that teachers scolded him for every small thing and emotionally hurt him. We complained verbally many times, but they never stopped,” the father told PTI.

The father said that they avoided taking stronger action as the class 10 exams were approaching. “His exams were due in one or two months. Twenty marks come from the school. I did not want to disturb anything,” he said.

“In his drama class, he slipped and fell. The teacher pushed him and insulted him in front of everyone and said he was overacting,” the father said. “They scolded him so much that he started crying, but the teacher told him they did not care how much he cried.”

“His classmates told me that a teacher had been threatening him and saying they would give him a transfer certificate and call us (parents) to the school. It was not just him, but three to four more kids have also been treated the same way,” he said. The boy had recently participated in a dance competition and had spoken about wanting to explore theatre and dance more, his father said. “He was also fairly good at studies,” he said.

Incident After Drama Class Triggered Breakdown, Says Family

On the day of the incident, the teenager stayed back for a drama club session. His father claimed that during the activity the boy slipped, after which a teacher allegedly pushed him, mocked him for “overacting,” and scolded him despite his visible distress. The father said the principal was present but did not intervene. Friends later told the family that the teacher’s behaviour had deeply affected him.

FIR Registered; Police Examining Allegations

An FIR has been filed accusing three teachers and the school principal of mentally harassing the student. Police said the claims made in the suicide note and by the family are being verified. The boy, who was active in dance and theatre and performed well academically, had been looking forward to pursuing his interests further. His parents were in Maharashtra for a medical emergency when the tragedy occurred.
