‘Joy of Hope’ scholarship to 350 children who lost parents during Covid- 19 pandemic
Bringing cheers to the life of as many as 350 students who have lost their beloved parents during the Covid- 19 pandemic have received ‘Joy of Hope’ scholarship to support their education. The ambitious ‘Joy of Hope’ programme initiated by Joyalukkas Foundation will take care of their education for the next five years.
Mr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Joyalukkas Group and Ms. Jolly Joy, Director of Joyalukkas Foundation handed over cheque of Rs. 2.5 Crore to Thrissur District Collector Mr. Krishna Theja IAS during the event held at DBCLC Hall in Thrissur on Saturday.
Addressing the kids at the function, District Collector Mr. Krishna Theja IAS said, “During my school days, I had a financial crisis in my family and one person’s intervention was crucial which helped me continue my studies. There many were challenges and crises during my childhood as well, but no obstacles were able to break my determination to succeed in life. I believe that God will work in all of our lives in the form of some human being. It is one such act that Mr. Joy Alukkas as done.”
“The ‘Joy of Hope’ scholarship is given with the aim of improving the academic standards of the students. This initiative will strengthen the social responsibility of the foundation which helps in times of crisis. Apart from this, under the ownership of the Foundation, an old age home and a palliative care center will start functioning soon in Thrissur,” Said Mr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Joyalukkas Group.
