IIT Mandi hosts the Ideas Matter Most talk show exploring the future of Human-AI partnership

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi hosted the “Ideas Matter Most” talk show, exploring the transformational potential of Human-AI (artificial intelligence) partnership. The event saw renowned experts, innovators, and thought leaders share their views and expertise on the future of Human-AI collaboration.
Prof. Lakshmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi who himself is an expert on AI, enthusiastically highlighted the opportunities and challenges of human-AI collaboration. Being one of the earliest researchers on AI in India, Prof. Behera also provided the glimpse of how the landscape has evolved in last 25-30 years. AI has seen number of winters, and each time, a development in efficient computing has led to the emergence of AI, Prof. Behera said, talking about the importance of efficient computing devices as a partner to AI algorithms.  Talking about the impact of AI on job market, Prof. Behera emphasized that AI is a tool created by human intelligence to enhance human efficiency and can not be a substitute to intellectual thinking.
Mr. Gokul Butail, Cabinet Rank and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, was the Guest of Honour for this event. Mr. Gokul Butail shared his perspective on technology and AI, highlighting the initiatives being taken by the Himachal Pradesh government to leverage these technologies for the development of the state. He emphasized that the government of Himachal Pradesh is committed to promoting growth, innovation, and inclusion by harnessing the power of technology and AI. The government’s goal is to create a thriving ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship, job creation, and better governance. Mr. Butail also highlighted the lucrative environment for the young entrepreneurs and data centres Himachal Pradesh government offers.
Other key speakers included Dr. L Venkata Subramaniam, IBM Quantum India Leader, IBM; Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta, Acclaimed International Conservative Political Economic and Foreign Policy Expert; Mr. Kanishk Agrawal, CTO, Judge Group India, Investor and Member Forbes Technology Council; Prof. Mohan Raghavan, Associate Professor, IIT Hyderabad; Dr. Amit Kmar Pandey, CTO, Robotics and AI, France; Dr. Shreystha Beppari, Senior Psychologist-Apollo Clinics; Mr. Amar Khanna Entrepreneur, Founder- Angry Traders; Mr. Senthil Jayaraman, Founder & CEO, Mashini Home Designs | MD, JM Fountain Pvt Ltd.; and Mr. Sunny Bhatia, Entrepreneur, Innovator, and Social Change Advocate.
Ideas Matter Most provided a platform for attendees to engage with speakers, ask questions, and network with other innovators and thinkers. The event was attended by students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and faculty members interested in exploring the future of human-AI collaboration.
