Bharatpur MLA and leader of the newly formed Janata Unnayan Party, Humayun Kabir, has officially announced that the construction of the controversial Babri Masjid replica in Murshidabad will commence by February 15, 2026. This announcement comes following his visit to Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground on Monday, where he finalized technical details for the project.
Partnership with Bengaluru Construction Firm
Kabir revealed that the responsibility for building the mosque has been entrusted to a specialized firm based in Bengaluru. The company’s executives arrived in Kolkata on Monday to hold high-level discussions with the MLA. “A technical team from the Bengaluru agency will visit the site in Beldanga on Tuesday to conduct essential soil testing,” Kabir told reporters. The main structure is designed to sit 80 feet away from the National Highway to comply with safety and infrastructure norms.
Mass Spiritual Recitation Before Ground breaking
In a bid to mobilize the community, Kabir announced that the project will be preceded by a massive religious gathering. A “Laksha Kanthe Quran Path” (the recitation of the Quran by 100,000 voices) will be organized at the 30-bigha site in Beldanga. This event is intended to serve as a spiritual inauguration before physical labor begins in mid-February.
