The CSR Journal Magazine

The Congress has intensified its move in the Bihar assembly elections. On Wednesday, an important meeting of the Congress Screening Committee was held at Sadakat Ashram in the capital Patna, in which more than 1500 ticket contenders from 19 districts presented their candidature.

Former Union Minister Ajay Maken, who was commanding this screening committee, kept listening to the arguments of ticket claimants throughout the day. He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhhi, MP Parineeti Shinde and Kunal Chaudhary in the committee.

The most crowded was seen at the time of the claim of the district, from where many contenders came on stage one by one and gave details of their strength and election equation. Ajay Maken listened to every candidate and prepared notes, so that the party could reach a clear picture of every candidate with the high command.

The process will be held in two phases

This process is an important part of Congress ticket distribution. The party has decided that only qualified and strong candidates will be fielded. Screening is taking place in two stages. In the first phase on Wednesday, the seats of 19 districts were reviewed, while the hearing of ticket claimants of the remaining 19 districts will start from 9 am on Thursday.

In this way, the party is trying to convey the message that the ticket will be given not just on the basis of loyal or identity, but will be given the possibility of grassroots and victory.

Ajay Maken, chairman of the screening committee, said that “this is the first time that the screening committee itself has come here. This screening committee meeting will also help that where we get a strong candidate.”

“I have also met the current MLAs and they have also applied in this meeting. In this, the ability to win the criterion of selection, the party’s loyalty and commitment to ideology, these three things are being seen,” said Maken.

Congress asked to submit application online

The Congress had sought online applications from candidates wishing to contest elections on this Bihar election, party ticket. For this, a QR code was issued. On scanning this code, the application form was opened, on which the details of the work done in the area were to be given with the details of the candidate.

Applications were sought for all 243 assembly constituencies, for which more than 3 thousand applications were received.
