CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Urges Supporters to Prioritize Family Time and Suspend Protests Until Diwali

The CSR Journal Magazine

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced on Tuesday that the organisation will refrain from organising any protests until Diwali. This decision comes amidst ongoing festive celebrations, and Dipke has encouraged his supporters to prioritise family time during this period. He addressed his followers, whom he refers to as “cockroaches,” urging them to take a break from protests and focus on their loved ones.

In a video message, Dipke expressed his understanding of the concerns that families must be feeling due to recent events. He referred to the heightened tensions in Delhi, which followed calls from the CJP and opposition parties for protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. Dipke emphasised the importance of family support during these challenging times.

Concerns Over Recent Events

Dipke acknowledged the worries that families of CJP supporters might have, particularly after the clampdown in Delhi. He highlighted that many supporters may have experienced anxiety due to the recent protests and the subsequent police actions. He remarked, “Right now, I just want you all—all my cockroaches—to request that for a few days, you spend time with your families.” His message underscores the need for emotional support and togetherness during the festive season.

He further noted that his own parents, along with the families of fellow CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, have expressed concern over the situation. This sentiment reflects a broader understanding of the impact that political activities can have on personal lives. Dipke’s call for family time is a recognition of the emotional toll that activism can take on supporters and their loved ones.

In a display of solidarity, Dipke praised the resilience of his colleagues who have recently been detained. He mentioned that despite their incarceration, both Ranka and Das have shown remarkable strength and resolve. He stated, “Even after five days, the same Sourav Das, who himself felt that he would not be able to stay in jail even for a day, he smiles on the fifth day and comes to the court.” This statement highlights the determination of CJP members in the face of adversity.

Judicial Custody of CJP Leaders

On October 19, Ranka and Das were remanded in judicial custody for an additional two days after appearing before a newly-appointed special executive magistrate at the Mandir Marg police station in Delhi. Their initial remand occurred on October 13, following an incident where they allegedly climbed over a locked gate to enter Jantar Mantar, which had recently been de-notified as a designated protest site.

During their protest, Ranka and Das, along with other CJP activists, displayed the national flag and voiced slogans against Chief Election Commissioner Kumar. Their actions led to their detention, which has since raised questions about the treatment of political dissent in the current climate. Dipke’s remarks regarding their courage and strength in the face of legal challenges reflect a commitment to the cause they represent.

As the festive season approaches, Dipke’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of familial bonds and emotional well-being amidst political strife. His call for a temporary halt to protests until Diwali aims to provide supporters with a chance to regroup and reflect on their personal lives before resuming their political activities.
