CGHS Confirms Wellness Centres Will Remain Open from August 27 to 31

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has issued a statement affirming that the wellness centres under its management will not close from August 27 to August 31, contradicting a false notice that circulated claiming the opposite. The CGHS clarified that the notification, purportedly originating from the CGHS, was neither officially issued nor sanctioned by the appropriate authorities within the organisation.

In its communication, the CGHS Directorate stated unequivocally that the details contained within the notice are misleading. The letter aims to assure the public and beneficiaries that there will be no disruption in services during the specified period.

NEET PG Examination Schedule

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is scheduled to conduct the NEET PG 2026 examination on August 30, 2026. The CGHS has made it clear that the operational schedules of its wellness centres will remain unaffected by any activities related to this examination. As a result, beneficiaries can continue to access services as per usual during the examination period.

The CGHS Directorate has also emphasised that any requirement for personnel to be deployed for official duties associated with the exam will be handled through established administrative protocols. This will ensure the continued provision of healthcare services to beneficiaries without interruption.

Officials within the CGHS have been instructed to communicate this clarification effectively to all wellness centres and the wider community of beneficiaries. Additional directors are tasked with making necessary staffing arrangements and ensuring that the information reaches everyone within their jurisdiction.

Public Guidance on Verifying Information

The CGHS has encouraged beneficiaries and the public at large to disregard the unauthorised notice. It has advised individuals to confirm information regarding CGHS services only through recognised channels such as the official CGHS website, the myCGHS 2.0 application, or directly from appropriate CGHS representatives.

The directorate has expressed its concern regarding the misuse of its name and logo and is taking the situation seriously. It has urged anyone with information on the origin or distribution of the misleading notice to come forward, promising action against those responsible.

As the date of the NEET PG examination approaches, the CGHS aims to ensure that its services remain intact so that beneficiaries continue to receive the necessary medical care without disruption. This situation highlights the importance of verifying information through official channels to prevent misinformation from affecting public health services.
