The CSR Journal Magazine

Ayan Abbas Ajani, an 18-year-old student, has garnered attention after attaining All India Rank 2 in the ICAI CA Foundation May 2026 examination. His impressive score of 367 out of 400 marks, equivalent to 91.75 per cent, highlights the significance of diligent effort, family support, and personal determination, even in the absence of formal coaching.

Residing in Bhadravati, a town located in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, Ayan’s achievement marks a proud moment for his family. His father operates a petrol pump, while his mother is a homemaker. His elder brother, a commerce graduate, contributes to the family business, fostering an environment of support and encouragement.

The news of his success prompted family celebrations, including distributing sweets among relatives and friends. This year, candidates from Maharashtra excelled in the merit list, with Sakshi Jain from Nashik clinching the top position, and Radha Unmesh Mule from Pune securing the third place.

Self-Directed Study Methodology

Ayan’s study approach is particularly noteworthy as he prepared for this challenging exam without attending any coaching classes. Instead, he opted for a self-led study regimen, dedicating approximately six to seven hours each day to his academic pursuits.

He stated that early comprehension of the syllabus played a crucial role in his success. Ayan revisited the syllabus multiple times and engaged in extensive practice, prioritising understanding over merely prolonging study hours. His structured routine involved concentrating on the material and sharpening his problem-solving skills, which he found essential for mastering the content.

To minimise distractions, Ayan intentionally limited his mobile phone use, allowing him to devote his full attention to exam preparation. This disciplined approach reflected his commitment to achieving high marks in what is known to be one of India’s most difficult professional entrance examinations.

Emotional Response to Exam Results

Ayan described feeling optimistic after completing the examination, yet witnessing his name listed at the top of the national merit list was still a profound experience. He expressed happiness upon seeing the results, acknowledging that while he had hoped for a commendable score, the actual outcome still surprised him.

During this ecstatic moment, Ayan was keen to thank his parents for their unwavering support. He attributed his academic success largely to their care and the resources they provided during his preparation. This acknowledgment emphasises the role of family in fostering an environment conducive to academic achievement.

Ayan previously achieved 498 out of 500 marks, or 99.8 per cent, in the CBSE Class 10 board examinations, further establishing a track record of excellence. With the CA Intermediate examination on the horizon, he remains focused and determined to continue his educational journey.

Ayan’s Message to Students

Despite his notable accomplishments, Ayan’s guidance to fellow students remains straightforward. He emphasised that success is not confined to academic pursuits and urged everyone to fully commit to their chosen fields, advocating for self-confidence and determination in the process.

His story serves as an inspiration, illustrating that exceptional achievements can emerge from dedication and a structured study routine, even outside conventional learning environments. Ayan’s experience reinforces the idea that success can often be cultivated through perseverance and a focused mindset.

In summary, his journey from Bhadravati to one of India’s premier CA Foundation ranks stands as testament to the potential within individual effort and resolve, highlighting that effective preparation can yield significant outcomes without formal coaching. The significance of hard work and family support plays a pivotal role in the path to success.
