A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. A 17-month-old girl named Akshita lost her life after accidentally falling into a pot of boiling milk. The large container of boiling milk was kept inside a school kitchen.

The incident took place at Ambedkar Gurukul School near Korapadu village on September 20. The tragic event was captured on CCTV footage, which has since gone viral online.

Chasing a Cat Leads to Disaster

According to the footage, Akshita was accompanying her mother, Krishna Veni, a security guard at the school. Meanwhile, inside the kitchen milk was being prepared for students. The hot milk was placed under a ceiling fan to cool.

After briefly leaving the kitchen with her mother, Akshita returned alone, chasing a cat. As she approached the container, she lost her balance and fell into the boiling milk, sustaining severe burns on her face and body.

Immediate Rescue and Medical Efforts

Upon hearing her daughter’s cries, Krishna Veni rushed to the kitchen and pulled Akshita out of the container. The toddler was immediately taken to Anantapur Government Hospital, where doctors advised transferring her to Kurnool Government Hospital for specialized treatment. Despite medical efforts, Akshita succumbed to her injuries due to the extensive burns.

A Community in Shock

The incident has left the local community devastated. Authorities are reportedly investigating the safety measures at the school kitchen to prevent such tragedies in the future. The loss of the toddler has deeply affected her family and the school staff, highlighting the need for stricter safety protocols around hazardous areas in public spaces.
