Andhra Pradesh Launches AI-Driven Job Portal to Empower 20 Lakh Youths

The CSR Journal Magazine

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious target: providing employment to 20 lakh youths by the year 2029. To achieve this, his government is banking on the recently launched Naipunyam portal, an AI-powered digital platform designed to transform the state’s skill development and job placement ecosystem. Reviewing this pioneering portal, the Chief Minister emphasised the vision of making Andhra a model state for youth empowerment, innovation, and global skilling. The approach not only addresses India’s unemployment challenges but also aims at nurturing a future-ready workforce from the grassroots.

Innovation at the Heart of Skill Development

During the review, Chief Minister Naidu called for the Naipunyam portal to be benchmarked against global best practices and leading institutions. He directed officials to create a robust and comprehensive skilling framework tailored for local needs, yet geared towards global opportunities. The portal, described as a first-of-its-kind, relies on artificial intelligence to consolidate and process employment data from every corner of Andhra Pradesh as well as nationwide and international markets. Notably, registered candidates can create AI-generated résumés, take real-time skill assessments, and access a unified dashboard of job opportunities, training centres, and job fairs.

The portal’s development is closely linked to industry-academia partnerships. It is being integrated with ITIs, polytechnic and engineering colleges, general universities, and major industries to keep students and institutes updated with emerging trends. Additionally, the portal provides sector-wise details of available jobs, skill courses, and training programmes, streamlined to build a workforce that is both industry-ready and innovation-driven.

Training and Opportunities for All

Special attention is being given to practical training through monthly job melas in every constituency, which have already helped over 1.44 lakh young people secure employment. The Chief Minister has instructed that advanced training and re-skilling opportunities be regularly updated on the portal, ensuring youth interested in upgrading their skills are never left behind. Among the unique features of the AI portal are an interview simulator for mock interviews and feedback, and a chatbot to guide users on training and job options. The portal currently supports Telugu and English but will soon be expanded to multiple languages for wider accessibility.

Foreign language training is also on the horizon, with the aim of supporting young aspirants seeking jobs abroad. The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT) will contribute by connecting qualified youths to overseas job markets and supplying information on international job listings. The goal is holistic: to make Andhra Pradesh’s youth not only employable within India but also competitive in any part of the world.

Empowering Every Corner of the State

The Chief Minister emphasised that genuine unemployed youth, including those who have not benefited from government schemes before, must get the full advantage of this initiative. By mapping predominant local skills in each constituency, targeted blended skill programmes combining online and offline learning will be designed.

Collaboration with leading global universities and institutions is being sought for skill accreditation and modern curriculum development, helping ensure Andhra Pradesh students are globally job-ready. The portal will also foster innovation right from school, encouraging students from Class 8 onwards to take part in idea incubation, supported by the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub.

With massive investment proposals already set to bring in lakhs of new jobs, the government is focusing on skill gap analysis and apprenticeship expansion to ensure that every opportunity is matched with a skilled local youth. Overall, the CM’s review made it clear that Andhra’s AI-driven approach to employment aims not just for numbers, but for a qualitative transformation in how the state’s youth prepare for and access the world of work.

The Naipunyam portal has thus become central to Andhra Pradesh’s vision for youth empowerment and employability, marking a new chapter in digital skilling and job placement for millions.
