The CSR Journal Magazine

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to commence the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across India from September 17 to October 17, which will feature various service-oriented programmes and public outreach efforts. This nationwide initiative aims to engage citizens in discussions and activities that promote social welfare.

Flagging Off The Yatra

The ‘Vadnagar to Varanasi’ and ‘Varanasi to Vadnagar’ Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra will be launched simultaneously from both locations on September 17 at 9:30 AM. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will oversee the event in Vadnagar, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and senior BJP leaders.

In Varanasi, the occasion will be marked by the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other important figures from the party. This coordinated effort aims not only to enhance party visibility but also to mobilise youth and engage communities in various service initiatives.

The bike yatra aims to cover approximately 40,000 kilometres, traversing through 193 districts and about 1,159 villages across ten states. An estimated 1,000 young participants from diverse backgrounds are expected to join the yatra .

Objectives Of The Yatra

During the course of the yatra, participants will engage in a range of public service and awareness initiatives focusing on critical social issues. Activities will include promoting cleanliness, advocating for a TB-free India, urging for a plastic-free environment, and emphasising water conservation.

Participants will also commit to nurturing 25 trees daily as part of the environmental effort. This pledge aims to underscore the significance of sustainability and ecological responsibility among young Indians.

Additionally, the yatra will facilitate interactions with beneficiaries of government schemes as well as with women and youth involved in empowerment initiatives. These sessions are designed to gather insights on their experiences while also strengthening outreach efforts with the community.

Preparations In Gujarat

In the lead-up to the yatra, four zonal sub-yatras began their journey towards Vadnagar from September 13. These sub-yatras, starting from Somnath, Shyamala Ji, Pavagadh, and Unai Mataji, are projected to reach Vadnagar by September 16.

Furthermore, a significant aspect of the initiative includes the collection of water from various sources throughout Gujarat. This water will be employed for Jalabhishek at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, symbolising a spiritual connection between the two historical landmarks.

This gesture is meant to not only celebrate the journey from Vadnagar to Varanasi but also highlight the cultural and religious significance of the yatra. By drawing together elements of spirituality and community service, the BJP aims to create a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
