On March 7, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a state-level exhibition titled “Nootan Nyaya Sanhita” at Bairagi Camp in Haridwar, organized by the Uttarakhand government. The exhibition is designed to create awareness regarding the implementation of new criminal laws, specifically the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). This initiative aims to educate citizens, legal professionals, law enforcement, and other stakeholders about the nuances of the modern criminal justice system.

The exhibition showcases key provisions of the new laws using engaging and interactive formats. Highlights include mandatory timelines for investigations and charge sheet submissions, provisions for Zero FIR and e-FIR filing, compulsory forensic investigations for serious crimes, acknowledgment of digital and electronic evidence, and enhanced legal measures to address crimes against women and children. The Uttarakhand government has been recognized for its effectiveness in implementing these laws, ranking first in the country.
