Airtel Introduces New Postpaid Plans Featuring Free International Roaming Starting at Rs 499

The CSR Journal Magazine

Airtel has officially launched new postpaid plans aimed at enhancing the mobile experience for international travellers. Beginning on October 8, customers on these plans will benefit from a complimentary international roaming trip each year, alongside unlimited data and calling services. In addition to these benefits, users will also receive spam and fraud protection protocols, as well as a variety of entertainment subscriptions.

Features of the Free Roaming Benefit

The complimentary international roaming feature includes a package comprised of 5GB of data, 60 minutes of outgoing calls, and 25 outgoing SMS, with free incoming SMS as well. This package remains valid for five consecutive days and can be activated at any time during international travel. Notably, for those on an Airtel family postpaid plan, each member is entitled to their own free roaming package, making it easier for families to travel abroad without incurring additional roaming charges.

The entry-level plan is set at Rs 499, and families have options made available through various tiers. For instance, a plan priced at Rs 749 accommodates two SIMs, while other plans priced at Rs 1,049, Rs 1,249, and Rs 1,449 cater to three, four, and five SIMs, respectively. The Rs 1,799 plan supports a maximum of five SIMs.

In addition to the roaming benefits, Airtel’s new postpaid plans come bundled with various entertainment and digital services. Depending on the selected plan, customers can gain access to subscriptions including platforms such as Amazon Prime, Apple Music, Apple iCloud+, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium, Netflix Basic, and Google One, in combination with unlimited data and calling features.

Upgrade Options for Existing Customers

Existing Airtel customers who are currently subscribed to older postpaid plans or prepaid connections can transition to these new offerings seamlessly. This can be achieved through the Airtel app or by visiting a nearby Airtel store. Additionally, individuals looking to switch from different telecom operators can also initiate the process to join Airtel’s postpaid services through the app or at physical locations.

This move by Airtel comes amid increasing competition in the telecom market, where the demand for cost-effective and comprehensive mobile services continues to rise. The introduction of these plans is expected to attract new customers as well as retain existing ones, by providing enhanced benefits tailored for the modern user.

With its latest offerings, Airtel aims to streamline communication for users during international travel while keeping entertainment options readily available. This combination of features marks a significant step in enhancing the mobile experience for postpaid customers across India.
