Aamir Khan Breaks Silence Over Family Dispute with Faissal Khan

Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s most respected actors, has spoken openly about the ongoing dispute with his brother Faissal Khan. The controversy grew in recent days after Faissal accused his family of keeping him locked inside their Mumbai home for over a year and branding him mentally unstable. His claims, made in a recent interview, have shocked both fans and the film industry.

Faissal, who has acted in a few films, said the family labelled him as schizophrenic. Sharing his distress, he alleged, “They were saying I’ve got schizophrenia and I’m a mad person who will harm society. They kept me locked at home for over a year.” He further claimed that he was admitted to JJ Hospital for almost three weeks. According to him, the hospital staff tested him alongside other patients, leaving him feeling trapped and isolated.

In reply to these allegations, Aamir Khan and several members of the Khan family issued a rare joint statement. They denied Faissal’s account and expressed deep pain over what they described as a hurtful and misleading portrayal of Aamir, their mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, and sister Nikhat Hegde. The family stated that they took every decision about Faissal’s well-being together and always sought medical advice before acting. They emphasised that their actions came from love and a desire to support his emotional and psychological health.

Moreover, the family highlighted that this was not the first time Faissal had presented events in a way they disagreed with. They explained that they had avoided sharing personal details about that difficult period because they did not want to cause more pain. Instead, they urged the media to act with empathy and to avoid turning private matters into “salacious, inflammatory and hurtful gossip.”

The statement carried the signatures of many family members. These included Aamir’s ex-wife Reena Datta, his children Junaid and Ira Khan, filmmaker Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, actor Imran Khan, and several others. Through this show of unity, the Khans aimed to make it clear that they acted on professional medical advice and out of genuine concern.

They concluded by urging fans and the media to show restraint and respect their privacy at this sensitive stage. The matter, they said, is deeply personal, and they hope that people will focus on compassion rather than speculation.
