Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended his greetings on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a significant festival celebrated across the country. He prayed to Lord Ganesha, venerating him as the remover of obstacles and challenges confronted by the nation, the state, its citizens, and farmers. The Chief Minister and his wife, Amruta Fadnavis, welcomed the idol of Lord Ganesha at their official residence, known as ‘Varsha.’

Fadnavis’s Prayers and Well-Wishes

Speaking to the media, CM Fadnavis conveyed his heartfelt wishes to all devotees of Lord Ganesha around the world. He stated, “I pray to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, to alleviate everyone’s suffering and clear all hurdles.” He remarked on the need for strength and capability to tackle the various challenges faced by the society and its constituents, emphasising the importance of communal spirit during the festival.

Amruta Fadnavisalso expressed her joy over the festival’s reverence in Maharashtra. She noted the enthusiasm surrounding the welcome of Lord Ganesha, highlighting that the celebrations are vibrant throughout the state. Amruta stated, “I am happy; today Bappa has arrived in the whole of Maharashtra and the country. People are greeting him with a lot of enthusiasm.”

The festival’s significance lies in the installations of idols, which can be seen in homes and community spaces known as pandals across Maharashtra. The joy and fervour of the occasion are palpable, evident in the visual celebrations marking this time of the year.

Festivities Across Maharashtra

The celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi span ten days, marked by morning aartis, cultural performances, and dynamic processions dedicated to the deity. The city of Mumbai serves as the epicentre of these festivities, with countless devotees converging at renowned locations. One of the most famous spots is the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, where devotees gather to glimpse the idol and seek blessings, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

In addition to the grand processions and pandal visits, local temples also embrace the spirit of the festival. In Nagpur, for example, the Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi held a Mangal Aarti, showcasing the religious zeal with which devotees celebrate this occasion. The communal gatherings during this period foster a sense of belonging among participants, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
