Endress+Hauser India, Swiss automation major, along with students and villagers from the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, launched a statewide crusade for water conservation ‘Save Water, Save Life”. 30 students in the age range of fifteen years were announced as the first crusaders of the program.
The day-long initiative witnessed the young champions receive training at the camp and are now equipped to educate their friends on water conservation methods in their respective villages. The enthusiastic ambassadors were spotted wearing a Nehru cap bearing the slogan ‘Save Water,  SaveLife’ and were given certificates for their participation, reading material on the subject, notebooks and pencil sets. The zealous children were then seen clicking selfies with cutouts of water droplets further demonstrating their commitment to conserving water and spread the word.
Elaborating on this unique initiative Kailash Desai, CEO, Endress+Hauser India says, “As part of our community betterment initiatives we have been regularly providing parched villages in Marathwada with clean drinking water. We wanted to take this initiative to the next level by educating the next generation the importance of water and how to best respect and manage it. We like to call this program as ‘Save Water, Save Life” and is our first unique campaign where the youth is involved. The villages selected for the first leg of the crusade are Chudawa, Rajapur, Pandhari and Pimpla.”
Calling out to his fellow villagers and neighbouring villages, Sahebrao Desai, Sarpanch of Chudawa said, “Water is life. This could not be truer for life in our villages as our economy depends on it. We are extremely happy that Endress+Hauser have developed this initiative to educate our children on the importance of conserving this life-giving resource. It is now our responsibility to ensure that this program reaches as many people as possible to ensure our villages are self-sufficient and productive.”
