A 22-year-old woman was murdered by her live-in partner in Ambedkar Konaseema district. The murder took place on Wednesday night in Siddhartha Nagar, B Savaram village, under Rajolu mandal. Oleti Pushpa, who had separated from her husband, had been living with Sheikh Shamma for six months. Police say Shamma, often drunk and quarrelsome, had recently pressured her into prostitution. When she refused, a violent fight broke out.
The accused fled and is currently on the run. Police have registered a case and launched a search with two dedicated teams.
In a separate case, Indla Suresh, a convicted prisoner from Gandhi Janasangam in Sangam Mandal, escaped from Nellore Central Prison on Tuesday evening. Authorities said the escape occurred under suspicious circumstances, and an investigation is underway to determine how it happened.
Police have appealed to the public for help, assuring that any shared information will be kept confidential.
