In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to strengthen the Uttar Pradesh Police force, the recruitment process for new personnel will continue in the upcoming financial year. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), Lucknow, has announced that fresh recruitment drives will commence in April and May.
Track Record of Recruitment and Employment Generation
As per the board’s plan, a total of 28,138 positions will be filled during this period. Notably, in March this year, the board successfully completed the recruitment of over 60,000 constables and more than 1,400 positions in the radio cadre. This structured and well-planned approach aims to streamline police recruitments and ensure timely execution of the recruitment calendar.
Notably, the Yogi government has a commendable track record in employment generation, having provided approximately 850,000 government jobs over the past eight years.
Upcoming Recruitment Details and Vacancies
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board is dedicated to providing all possible job opportunities in the Police department. Over the past eight years, the board has successfully recruited more than 2,14,468 candidates for various positions. This includes the recruitment of over 34,832 women and approximately 1,79,636 men.
Constable and Technical Recruitment
Among these, 12,144 candidates were appointed as Sub-Inspectors in Civil Police, 780 as Platoon Commanders, 1,48,222 as Constables in Civil Police, and 42,539 as Constables in PAC. Additionally, 516 skilled sportspersons were recruited at the constable level, including 178 women players.
The Board has finalized the roadmap for the upcoming recruitment process in line with the state government’s plan. The application process is set to begin in the last week of April 2025 or the first week of May 2025.
Skilled Sportsperson Recruitment
This recruitment drive will include 4,543 vacancies for Sub-Inspector level positions, comprising 4,242 posts for Sub-Inspector (Civil Police), 135 posts for Platoon Commander (PAC), 60 posts for Platoon Commander (Special Force), and 106 posts for Female Platoon Commander (for Budaun, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur districts)
Additionally, recruitment at the constable level will be conducted simultaneously, covering 22,053 posts, including: 15,904 posts for PAC, Special Force, and Female PAC Constables, 3,245 posts for Constable (Civil Police), 71 posts for Mounted Police (Horse-mounted unit), and 2,833 posts for Jail Wardens.
Apart from this, technical recruitments will also take place, including 44 posts for Radio Assistant Operator and 1,153 posts for Computer Operator Grade-A in April-May 2025. The recruitment of skilled sportspersons is also under process, with 91 posts for Sub-Inspector (Civil Police), 372 posts for Constable (Civil Police), and 174 posts for PAC Constables.
Verification and Testing Process
The document verification and sports skill tests for these candidates will begin in the third week of April 2025. In total, over 28,000 positions will be filled through this recruitment drive.
