“Will Pee on Your Face”: Woman Sub-Inspector Caught On Camera Abusing Couple in UP

The CSR Journal Magazine

A video allegedly showing a woman police sub-inspector verbally abusing and threatening a couple during a traffic jam in Uttar Pradesh has gone viral, triggering widespread outrage on social media. The incident is reported to have taken place on Sunday evening in Meerut’s crowded Bombay Bazar area, where traffic congestion brought vehicles to a standstill.

In the viral video,, the officer is heard threatening to beat the man with a belt and send him to jail. She further went on saying, “Daroga hoon main, muh mein m**t dungi,” which roughly translates to “I am a police officer, will pee on your face”.

Altercation in the Middle of the Road

According to eyewitnesses, the situation escalated around 7 pm when a police officer travelling in a Hyundai i20 became stuck in heavy traffic near Abu Lane. Irritated by a vehicle ahead, she allegedly began shouting abuses from inside her car. The video circulating online shows the officer stepping out, opening the door of the car in front, and continuing the verbal assault in full public view.

When a woman seated inside the vehicle attempted to intervene, she too was allegedly subjected to offensive language. Moments later, the male driver stepped out, leading to a heated argument that reportedly turned physical. The confrontation caused further disruption as commuters gathered around the scene.

Video Goes Viral, Public Reacts

Several bystanders recorded the incident on their mobile phones, and the footage quickly spread across social media platforms. Viewers expressed shock at the alleged behaviour, questioning the conduct expected from a police officer in uniform. Many users demanded strict departmental action, calling the episode an abuse of authority.

The video is said to capture the officer using extremely derogatory language and issuing humiliating threats, which further intensified public anger once the footage went viral.

Officer Identified, Police Respond

Meerut SP City Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that the woman in the video has been identified as Ratna Rathi, a police sub-inspector posted at Mahua police station in Aligarh. Officials stated that she was returning from Saharanpur after appearing in court to record a statement and had briefly stopped in the Bombay Bazar area when the incident occurred.

Police authorities have acknowledged the viral video and said the matter is under examination. However, officials added that no formal complaint has been received so far. Any disciplinary or legal action, they said, would depend on a written complaint and the outcome of a departmental inquiry.
