Shocking CCTV: Woman and Her Mother Brutally Assault Elderly In-Law in Ghaziabad Home

A disturbing case of domestic abuse has surfaced from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman and her mother were caught on security footage violently attacking the woman’s elderly mother-in-law. The brutal incident occurred on July 1 in the Govindpuram area and came to public attention after the graphic video began circulating on social media.

In the footage, 65-year-old Sudesh Devi is seen being shoved, slapped, and dragged across the floor by her daughter-in-law, Akanksha, and Akanksha’s mother. The duo allegedly assaulted her inside her own home following a verbal spat. The situation escalated after Sudesh Devi tried to stop Akanksha’s mother from recording the confrontation on her mobile phone.

The footage shows Akanksha arriving with two small bags, confronting her mother-in-law, and soon lashing out violently. Her mother stands by the stairs, recording the altercation. When Sudesh Devi attempts to take the phone, she is thrown to the ground and repeatedly hit on the head. Akanksha’s mother tries to step in but fails to stop the ongoing attack.

Woman Dragged, Slammed and Beaten in Shocking Home Assault

As the elderly woman tries to flee and knocks on a door for help, she is grabbed, slammed into a wall, and violently pulled back until she falls, losing her slippers in the process. Akanksha then kicks them aside and pulls her mother-in-law down the staircase. The horrifying sequence ends with her being dragged into a room just as someone opens the door.

According to the victim’s husband, retired teacher Satyapal Singh, the couple approached Kavi Nagar police station for help but were initially dismissed. He claimed that police hesitated to take action due to Akanksha’s influential family background — her father is allegedly a serving Delhi Police officer.

What further added to the trauma was that Sudesh Devi was forced to make multiple trips to the police station before any serious action was taken. Only after the video went viral and triggered massive public criticism did police finally file a case. An FIR has now been registered against both Akanksha and her mother.

Case Filed After Video Reveals Pattern of Abuse, Says DCP

“Based on the complaint, which mentions ongoing mistreatment by the daughter-in-law, a case has been registered under relevant sections,” confirmed City DCP Dhawal Jaiswal. Initially, only a non-cognizable report (NCR) was filed, but the situation escalated with the video’s release.

Akanksha, who works as a software engineer from home, has been married to Antariksh, also a software professional based in Gurugram, for about two and a half years. The family alleges that abuse from Akanksha had been occurring regularly but remained undocumented until now.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many on social media demanding strict legal consequences for the accused. The case is currently under active investigation.
