The West Indies cricket team has arrived at Thiruvananthapuram airport on the morning of September 23, 2026, in preparation for their first One Day International (ODI) match against India. The match is set to take place at the Greenfield International Stadium on September 27, 2023. The team, captained by Shai Hope, will begin their competition in a series consisting of three ODIs against India as part of their tour.

Details of the ODI Series

The anticipated match will commence at 2 PM IST, and it marks the beginning of the ODI series to be played across multiple locations in India. Following the initial match in Thiruvananthapuram, the second ODI is scheduled to occur in Guwahati on September 30, while the final game will be hosted in New Chandigarh on October 3. This series is a significant part of a broader tour that extends until October 18 and includes five T20 matches as well.

Cricket West Indies has released its roster for both the ODI and T20 series against India. Notably, John Campbell is making a return to the ODI squad after missing his last two outings due to a hamstring injury. Jewel Andrew has been brought into the team to replace Ackeem Auguste, who is currently rehabilitating after surgery undergone in August. Moreover, Shimron Hetmyer, who recently played in the final two ODIs against New Zealand, is expected to participate in the T20 series following an extended recovery period.
