Star Indian batter Virat Kohli returned to India on Thursday, February 12, after spending nearly a month in London, and his arrival quickly turned into a celebratory moment at the airport.

The former India captain was greeted by a surge of excitement as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Supporters lined up near the exit area, many holding their phones ready to capture photos and videos of the cricketing icon.

Cheerful Kohli Obliges Fans

Despite tight security and a heavy crowd, Kohli appeared relaxed and cheerful. He acknowledged fans, smiled for selfies and interacted warmly with those who managed to approach him. Several videos of the moment surfaced online within minutes, drawing praise for his humility and approachable demeanour.

The scenes reflected Kohli’s enduring popularity, even though he is currently not part of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 being hosted in India.

Not Part Of T20 World Cup 2026

Kohli retired from T20 internationals in June 2024 after guiding India to a memorable T20 World Cup triumph. He played a crucial role in the final against South Africa, scoring a match-winning 76 off 59 balls and earning the Player of the Match award.

While he is not featuring in the current edition of the tournament, his presence in India has still generated massive attention among fans.

When Will Kohli Return To Action?

Kohli has been in exceptional form in ODI cricket, scoring 616 runs in his last seven innings at an average of 123.2 and a strike rate of 108.64, including three centuries and three half-centuries.

He will next represent India in national colours during the ODI series in England scheduled for July 2026.

Before that, he will turn out for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2026 season. RCB enter the tournament as defending champions after defeating Punjab Kings in last season’s final.

For now, however, Kohli’s brief airport appearance has once again shown that his connection with fans remains as strong as ever.
