However, chaos ensued when a woman disrupted the ceremony, confronting a party leader about an alleged financial grievance.

Allegations of Financial Misappropriation

The woman accused the BJP functionary of cheating her out of approximately Rs 4.5 lakh. According to her, this amount was supposed to be deposited into Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) investments but was instead misappropriated by the accused. Despite repeated requests for the return of her funds, she claimed there had been no resolution. Accompanied by her son, she arrived at the event demanding immediate repayment.

Heated Confrontation Escalates

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the situation escalated quickly when the woman slapped the party leader and reportedly attempted to drag him by his collar. The unexpected altercation caused panic among the attendees, with several individuals rushing to intervene. Nevertheless, the confrontation intensified, leading to verbal exchanges and physical scuffles.

Police Intervention Restores Order

Law enforcement arrived at the venue following notifications from onlookers, effectively restoring order after nearly an hour of disruption. The woman, along with others involved in the exchange, was escorted out of the BJP office, permitting the felicitation program to continue.

Party Officials Provide Statements

Sameer Tripathi, former district president and ex-candidate, commented on the incident, noting that the confrontation arose unexpectedly amid the ongoing event. He remarked that prior notification of the dispute could have potentially averted the incident. Both individuals involved are affiliated with the BJP, and he stated that efforts would be made to resolve the financial disagreement promptly.
