“Use the Metro”: Delhi Airport Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead of India AI Summit

The CSR Journal Magazine

Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has issued an advisory for passengers, anticipating possible traffic delays during the India AI Summit taking place at Bharat Mandapam. Travelers are urged to consider alternative modes of transportation, specifically recommending the Delhi Metro for more convenient access to the airport.

The advisory was shared on social media, indicating the need for passengers to plan their journeys in light of the significant events happening in the capital, which could lead to road traffic congestion. DIAL suggests that passengers consider the metro system to avoid potential delays when traveling to and from the airport.

The airport management highlighted the Magenta Line as the best option for reaching Terminal 1 and the Airport Express Line for Terminals 2 and 3. This recommendation aims to ease travel complications during the summit and related activities in the city.

India AI Summit and Expo Kickoff

Concurrent with the advisory, the AI Impact Summit 2026 is commencing today at Bharat Mandapam under the theme “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya.” Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026, which will span from February 16 to 20. The expo serves as a national exhibit for artificial intelligence implementations, integrating policy-making, innovation, and large-scale execution onto a singular platform.

This year’s expo will cover 10 distinct areas, occupying over 70,000 square meters, and is expected to attract participation from global tech firms, emerging startups, research institutions, and various governmental entities. Overall, thirteen international pavilions will be featured, showcasing collaborative efforts in AI from countries like Australia, Japan, Russia, the UK, Germany, and others.

Over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live AI demonstrations will be conducted across three thematic areas representing People, Planet, and Progress, illustrating the extensive impact of AI across multiple sectors. The event anticipates participation from more than 600 high-potential startups focusing on feasible AI solutions that have already been implemented in practical environments.

Significant Engagement Expected

The expo is also expected to draw an estimated 250,000 attendees, including international delegates, aiming to foster collaboration and business opportunities within the growing AI sector. Additionally, over 500 sessions will feature more than 3,250 speakers and panelists, offering diverse insights into the AI landscape.

The India AI Summit marks a historic moment as it is the first international gathering of its kind to be held in the Global South, representing New Delhi’s goal of shaping the future of AI to be inclusive and responsible. Under the IndiaAI Mission, 12 indigenous AI models will be introduced, developed by local startups and consortia, trained on extensive Indian datasets, and adjusted to accommodate the country’s 22 official languages.

The summit, alongside the expansive expo, will showcase practical AI applications ranging from precision agriculture to accessible education solutions. With projections indicating that India’s AI market could exceed USD 17 billion by 2027, this event signifies a substantial milestone for the nation, positioning it as a pivotal player in the global AI arena through its robust digital ecosystem and innovative capacities.
