A horrific murder incident has come to light from the village of Mainather in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Here the body of a 20-year-old woman named Saira was discovered in a maize field on Sunday morning. The woman had gone missing the previous evening after leaving home to collect fodder for her goats.

However, hours later her blood-soaked body was found by her mother, Shafeena, near a temple in the village. Reports reveal that the victim had been stabbed numerous times with a screwdriver. This includes grievous injuries to her private parts.

Post-Mortem Reveals Brutality

Following the discovery of the body a formal police complaint was lodged. The Police initially suspected the possibility of sexual assault due to injuries in sensitive and private areas. However, the post-mortem confirmed that she had not been raped. Saira suffered brutal injuries and torture on her body. The autopsy report detailed approximately 30 stab wounds. Most of these injuries were inflicted with a sharp object, believed to be a screwdriver.

Investigation Leads to Boyfriend

A thorough investigation was conducted, the police examined Saira’s mobile phone. They found five missed calls from a single number and suspicions grew larger. The police traced the number that led authorities to Rafi.

The accused, Rafi is a man from the same village who had allegedly been in a relationship with Saira. Her mother told the police that Rafi had been harassing her daughter. Tensions escalated between them leading to the tragic incident.

“Took a Bath, Went to Sleep After Murder”

The Police arrested Rafi and questioned him about his connection to the case. During interrogation, Rafi confessed to the murder. He stated that he was enraged after Saira allegedly arranged for him to be beaten up by another man. He then admitted to following her to the field on Saturday. Upon reaching a secluded place in the field he confronted her. However the argument escalated quickly and he stabbed her multiple times with a screwdriver in a fit of rage.

According to reports, Rafi said that when Saira pleaded for her life, he attacked her even more viciously. After ensuring she was dead, he returned home. Upon reaching home, he bathed, cleaned all the blood stains, and changed clothes. He then went to sleep as if nothing had happened.

“Rafi said that he loved Saira, but she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. He said that a few days ago, she had got him beaten up by a man from the village. He suspected that Saira was in a relationship with the man who thrashed her,” he said.

Police statement

Senior police official Satpal Antil confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and all possible angles are being explored. “We were alerted by villagers about a body being discovered in the fields. During the preliminary investigation, we found that the body belonged to a woman from the village who had come to cut grass in the fields around 5 pm on Saturday. We are in constant touch with the family of the deceased and are investigating all possible angles. The probe is underway,” senior police official Satpal Antil said.

“When Saira started writhing in pain and begged for her life to Rafi, he pierced her private parts with a screwdriver. She died soon after. He then shook her, and when he was sure that she was dead, he went home, took a bath, changed his clothes and went to sleep,” the police said.

Meanwhile, the incident has left the local community in shock and mourning, with calls for swift justice. Rafi remains in police custody as authorities prepare the case for trial.
