A maulana from Uttar Pradesh has been apprehended for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl, who subsequently gave birth to a baby girl at her residence. The accused, identified as Maulana Islam, reportedly threatened and assaulted the minor, which led to her pregnancy. Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s family, law enforcement took action and arrested the suspect.

Details of the Case

The incident occurred in a village located within the Pilkhuwa Kotwali region. On February 14, the girl began experiencing intense abdominal pain, prompting her family to take her to a private medical facility. It was during this visit that medical professionals informed her family of the pregnancy. Shortly after returning home, the girl gave birth.

Family’s Initial Reaction

Unaware of her condition, the young girl did not disclose the events leading to her pregnancy to her family. On the evening of February 14, around 8 PM, she suffered severe stomach pain, which necessitated her visit to a hospital, where the pregnancy was confirmed. After returning home, she subsequently delivered her baby.

Legal Actions Taken

A formal complaint was filed at Pilkhuwa Kotwali, resulting in a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. The survivor’s father, originally from Hasanpur in the Amroha district, has been residing for several years in his in-laws’ village in Pilkhuwa and works as a laborer to support his family.

Victim’s Statement to Authorities

The girl informed the police that her neighbor, Maulana Islam, had been sexually assaulting her while she was home alone, using threats to deter her from informing her family about the assaults.

Following this revelation, police officials, led by Inspector Manish Chauhan, visited the girl and her newborn at their residence before transferring them to a One-Stop Centre for better care. Reports indicate that both mother and baby are in good health.

Investigation Progress

Based on the father’s complaint, an FIR was officially registered on February 17. Medical examinations have been carried out, and statements from both the victim and her family have been documented.

The accused was arrested on February 18 and is currently facing legal proceedings, including being presented before the appropriate judicial authority for further action.
