‘Main phansa hoon, saans nahin aa rahi’: Last Cries in Udaipur Crash Video

The CSR Journal Magazine

A disturbing video recording showing reckless driving, loud music and repeated pleas to slow down has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the Udaipur car crash that killed four teenagers, including three minors, late on Saturday night.

Police have confirmed that the nearly nine-minute clip, shot from inside the car, is part of the ongoing investigation. The footage documents the moments leading up to the collision, the impact itself, and the agonising cries for help from survivors trapped in the wreckage.

Speed Touches 140 kmph as Pleas go Ignored

The video shows six friends travelling in a car after attending a Mehfil-e-Milad programme in Udaipur. They were heading towards the old Ahmedabad highway for tea when the crash occurred.

Nineteen-year-old Sher Mohammad is seen driving, with loud Haryanvi music blaring from the stereo and a video playing on the dashboard screen. He is also seen smoking as the car accelerates rapidly. At one point, the person filming is heard saying “Haath hatao” before zooming in on the speedometer, which shows the needle crossing 120 kmph.

As the speed increases further, one passenger is heard warning that the car has reached 140 kmph and urgently asks the driver to slow down. Another friend repeats the plea. The driver does not respond.

Seconds later, the vehicle swerves sharply. A scream is heard, followed by the sound of a violent collision, shattering glass and sudden darkness at around the 1 minute 23 second mark of the video.

Cries for Help After the Crash

For more than 40 seconds after the impact, the video captures only static. Gradually, the sounds of groaning and distress emerge. For over two minutes, the audio records the pain and panic of the injured occupants.

One survivor, trapped inside the mangled car, can be heard crying out to people who had gathered at the scene. “Bachalo bhayya… Mummy… bachalo,” he pleads. Struggling to breathe, he adds, “Main andar phansa hua hoon, mereko saans nahin aa rahi hai.”

The recording continues for several more minutes, capturing his desperate, fading cries before it abruptly ends.

Four Teenagers Killed

The crash claimed the lives of Sher Mohammad (19), Mohammad Ayan (17), Ghulam Khwaja (17) and Adil Qureshi (14). Two other friends travelling in the same car sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.

Officials said that all four occupants of the second vehicle, which was travelling towards Gujarat, were also injured in the collision. They are currently receiving medical care along with the two survivors from the first car.

Police are examining the video footage to determine liability and have described the driving captured in the clip as extremely dangerous. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over reckless driving, high-speed crashes and road safety among young drivers in Rajasthan.
