Tejashwi Yadav: Crime has Peaked in Bihar Under NDA Government

The CSR Journal Magazine

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the opposition leader in Bihar, expressed serious concerns regarding the escalating crime situation in the state during a press conference held in Patna. He asserted that crime has reached alarming levels, with criminals acting boldly due to alleged protection from the ruling government. Yadav emphasized that since the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) came into power, lawlessness has intensified, labeling the current state as a “peak” in criminal activity.

During his address, Yadav accused the Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, of failing to maintain law and order. He described Kumar as “unconscious” regarding the security situation in the state, suggesting that the administration is ineffective in controlling rampant crime. Yadav remarked, “Criminals are fearless because the government is protecting them. We have been indicating that criminals have become emperors ever since the NDA assumed governorship.” He claimed that crime rates are notably higher in states ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and criticized the state authorities for overshadowing genuine concerns by engaging in confrontations with the opposition instead of addressing pressing issues.

Yadav’s comments came on the heels of a tragic incident involving a girl who reportedly died after falling from the fourth floor of a coaching center near AIIMS Patna. While authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of this fall, the incident has ignited widespread political backlash and protests from the families affected and opposition leaders alike, demanding stronger action from local law enforcement to enhance public safety.

Rabri Devi, another senior RJD leader, also criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s administration regarding the recent tragic event. She posed pointed questions about the state’s declining law and order and highlighted ongoing issues of violence against women. “Girls are being raped in various districts. The administration must respond and take decisive action to halt this crisis. The people of the country, as well as Bihar, are keenly observing. Is this the governance we can expect?” Devi stated, underscoring the urgent need for accountability and safety measures.

The comments made by both Tejashwi Yadav and Rabri Devi reflect growing frustration within the opposition regarding the current government’s handling of crime and security issues. As public outcry gains momentum, they call upon the authorities to take immediate steps toward ensuring safety and justice for citizens. The situation remains tense, with political leaders across party lines acknowledging the pressing need for reform and increased vigilance to support the community’s security.
