Staged as Accident: Gruesome Hammer Murder Uncovered in Jhunjhunu

In a gruesome act, a 45-year-old woman named Poonam, along with her 31-year-old partner Krishna Kumar Jat, had plotted and executed the murder of her husband Anoop Singh Yadav. The duo conspired to disguise the murder as an accident; however, after a thorough investigation, police unearthed the murder weapon. The co-accused have been presented before the court and have been sent to jail after they confessed.

During a media interaction, SP Devendra Singh Rajawat shared that the victim’s body was found alongside Pacheeri Road in Buhaana, Jhunjhunu district on June 9. The victim’s daughter Monika had informed the police regarding her father’s road accident. However, when police reached the crime spot, they discovered certain suspicious elements, which led to a deeper murder investigation.

SP Rajawat shared that the investigation has made it clear that on June 10, when the victim stepped out of his home for his usual walk post dinner, accused Poonam informed her lover Krishna. “While the victim was strolling, the accused Krishna met him and offered a drink under the pretext of casual companionship. When the victim was intoxicated, the accused attacked him with a hammer, which led to his eventual death.” Police further shared that the gruesome act was staged as an accident by Poonam and her lover.

The investigation has confirmed that the murder was made to look like an accident, with the victim deliberately left by the roadside to create that impression. A confession of the accused Krishna Kumar Jat has been recorded, and he has been sent to judicial custody on Wednesday. Co-accused Poonam has also been sent to jail.
