SpiceJet Launches Special Flights from UAE to India Amid Middle East Conflict

The CSR Journal Magazine

In response to the ongoing disruption of flight services caused by the conflict in Iran, SpiceJet has introduced a series of special flights connecting the United Arab Emirates and India. The airline announced on Wednesday that it would provide additional services from prominent cities in the UAE, such as Dubai and Fujairah, to major Indian hubs including Mumbai and Delhi. The primary aim of these flights is to assist passengers who are stranded and to enhance travel connectivity between the two nations during these challenging times.

Details of Special Flights

According to the flight schedule shared by the airline, a number of flights are set to operate on March 5. Flight SG 9014 is scheduled to depart from Dubai at 1:55 PM and arrive in Mumbai at 6:25 PM. In addition, SG 9036 will link Fujairah to Mumbai with planned departure at 4:20 PM, landing at 8:30 PM. Other routes from Fujairah include SG 9006 expected to leave at 11:10 AM and arrive at 4:40 PM, as well as SG 9082 scheduled for 7:05 PM to 12:10 AM. Additional services from Fujairah to Mumbai for that day are SG 9087 at 12:30 PM and SG 9089 at 8:30 PM, with arrival times of 5:00 PM and 1:00 AM respectively.

On March 6, SpiceJet will continue its operations with multiple flights from Fujairah to Mumbai and Delhi, including SG 9014 (1:55 PM-6:25 PM), SG 9036 (4:20 PM-8:30 PM), and SG 9712 (10:50 AM-3:40 PM), among others. Flights to Delhi on this day will include SG 9072 at 12:05 AM, SG 9006 at 11:10 AM, and SG 9085 at 12:05 PM, each scheduled to ensure efficient connectivity on these important routes. For March 7, the airline will maintain its services with SG 9014 from Fujairah to Mumbai, departing at 1:15 AM and arriving at 5:25 AM.

Air India Offers Assistance to Stranded Passengers

In conjunction with SpiceJet’s efforts, Air India has also announced measures aimed at travelers affected by the situation in the region. Customers with confirmed bookings made by February 28 for flights to and from the Middle East, the UK, and Europe are eligible for complimentary rescheduling or full refunds for cancellations through March 10. The airline has been closely watching the developments in the Middle East and has resumed select flights to and from Dubai and Jeddah to facilitate the return of stranded passengers, prioritizing their safety and well-being.

International Response to Middle East Tensions

The introduction of these flight services comes in the wake of escalated tensions in the Middle East, arising from coordinated airstrikes executed by the US and Israel on Iranian targets. The strikes, which occurred on February 28, aimed at military installations within multiple Iranian cities and resulted in significant casualties, including the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei along with four senior military officials. Iran has since retaliated, launching missile strikes and drone attacks on US positions and allied countries throughout the region, which has further exacerbated the conflict and raised safety concerns for civilians and expatriates alike.
